And if it really is possible to stop time as far as the effects of aging are concerned.

Life Before Botox:
Was excited about the treatment. I had never really thought about having it done until some friends indulged and I saw their results. I had frown lines, crow’s feet and some lines across my forehead, which were nothing major but something I noticed. I also had a few broken capillaries on my face, which we decided that we would treat with laser.

Session 1: Botox

I arrived at Heber Davies in my lunch break and was warmly welcomed by the delightful staff. The treatment was explained in detail and after signing my consent form it was all systems go! We took some photos so we could compare after shots. I was taken to a treatment room and again explained more about the procedure and possible pain you could experience during the treatment. We got started and the girls use tiny needles imported from the US and whilst there is a tiny pinprick, it doesn't hurt at all. It took all of about five minutes and after it was complete, there were a few mozzie style bumps on my face where the needles had entered the skin, which disappeared after ten minutes. I was told it would take approximately two weeks to see the full results.

Session 2: Photos - after shots and laser treatment.

After two weeks the results were well under way. All lines were gone and I looked like a teenager again. The after shots proved this after making the comparison. Following the after shots, I was once again explained the procedure in detail and we were underway. I was told the laser would feel like someone flicking a rubber band on my face and that’s exactly what it felt like. A very small amount of pain, but nothing you can't cope with. I was left with some red marks on my face and a small bruise on one of the more major broken capillaries, as they had to do multiple lasers on that sight. Within two weeks the bruising was gone and so were the capillaries!

All in all the experience was a very positive one. I was very happy with the results. I just wished the botox lasted longer than four months.

I was looking forward to having the treatment done from the word ‘go’ as I have uneven skin tone. My treatment consisted of four microdermabrasion sessions. Microdermabrasion is basically it is a skin resurfacing treatment and removes the dead layers of skin from your face.

Microdermabrasion is something that I've been interested in having for a while. The sessions were two weeks apart, long enough for the skin to recover properly in between.

Session 1: The first session was the most traumatic as it was the first time my skin had experienced something of the kind. The dermabrasion was painless, although the stench of the peel that comes afterwards can be pretty intense. For three to four days afterwards my face was peeling. I peeled all over my face, although not enough for other people to really notice. It was more me that I could notice. After a week my face was still peeling in areas but was really minor.

Session 2: After the first session, I was aware of what would be going on, so nothing to painful. The treatment feels like a really fine pumice stone with a mini vacuum sucking up the dead skin (glamorous). My skin was responding well so they opted out of putting the peel on again.

After the third and fourth session the peeling was so minor that it was easily fixed with some of the great Ultraceuticals products that were given to me to assist my skin with the process.

I have noticed a little difference, although I didn't do the complete cycle of six treatments, which shows the true results. My skin definitely feels a lot cleaner and my freckles and spots have faded. I'm sure with ongoing treatments your skin would look amazing. It isn't the quickest way to turn back the clock, but definitely a great option for a non-invasive pain free option.
